A project has an associated Microsoft Project file, which stores data for the project. A Microsoft Project file is the same as any other Microsoft Office document (such as an Excel spreadsheet or Word document). Project files can be saved in either of two formats: -2003 format--For compatibility with Project 2003 and earlier versions of Project. Files saved in 2003 format cannot be opened by earlier versions of Project. -XLSX Format--The newest format for saving a project file, which can be used by all versions of Microsoft Office and with most other software programs that support the XLSX format. The default project view of the Microsoft Project 2015 is Project Desktop View. Users can switch to different views of the project by double-clicking on the View Controls located in the lower right corner of the active pane. Microsoft Access 2013 includes an integrated query editor (QBE) which allows users to write queries. These queries can be tailored to work with data stored in any of the databases included with Access, including Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, IBM DB2 and MySQL. Queries can be created directly inside of Access; they can also be written through other tools that access SQL Server or other MDB or ODBC databases (such as Excel). In contrast to its previous version, Access 2013 also includes a new Data Modeling feature which allows users to create business data models. One feature of this suite is Microsoft Project Professional 2013. The all-new desktop client for Microsoft Project includes a range of improvements, including new views and reports. Users can customize the project workspace with the ability to create additional tabs in the task pane, customize view settings and automatically migrate a pre-existing project in 2003 format to the new XLSX format.
